Credited with returning the focus to a genre of music on the brink of extinction, Nattapon Siangsukon, best known as Maft Sai, is a molam music innovator. Together with ZudRang- Ma Records partner Chris Menist, Nattapon continues to blaze distinctive trails in the music scene, from the heart of Bangkok deep into the villages of the Thai countryside. ZudRangMa has created an incontestable name as the home of rare and unique Thai records, attracting the appreciation of discerning collectors around the world. Far beyond a physical collection spanning generations of molam records, ZudRungMa is a sonic exploration of the far reaches of world music meticulously prepared into original pressings by this passionate team. Maft Sai has taken every musical opportunity afforded a DJ and label boss, and gained access to some of the great Thai musicians of the past, bringing legends back into the studio to reinvigorate their musical history for a new generation of listeners. The Studio Lam happenings in the music studio bar that he founded are the live extension of these efforts, and a continuation of the infamous molam, world Music and Thai funk parties he used to throw under the names Paradise Bangkok and Isan Dancehall. The drive to recreate distinctive local tunes has seen Nattapon take to stages across the globe with the Paradise Bangkok Molam International Band (Maft Sai, Menist, Kammao Perdtanon, and Sawai Kaewsombat). Nattapon remains an unrelenting force in breathing new life into treasured music from around the world, opening his crates to an appreciative audience once oblivious to its existence.
