We all own that one piece of clothing that we HAD to have but, alas, have never worn. That one garment burning a hole in the back of our closet, a reminder of money spent on short-lived content, savored so sweetly for but a moment, only to never see the light of day again—till now, that is.

We challenged the fixtures of Bangkok’s fashion circuit, who cumulatively own more NWT (that’s “New With Tags” for the un-eBay-initiated) attire than a Club 21 sample sale, to dig out that one item from their wardrobe that they’ve never worn—yet can’t bear to part with—and, well, wear it!

Whether it was an impulse purchase, weight loss incentive, snap sale decision, or simply a case of particularly good changing room lighting, it doesn’t matter—they did the deed and now we want to see the dress. And then find out, more importantly, if they would wear it again or admit sartorial defeat? Stay tuned for each of our weekly, 9-part “New With Tags” episodes to find out.

What’s the item?
Well, there are several: a turtleneck sweater, a vintage sailor dress, and finally, a pair of mustard corduroy high-waisted wide-leg trousers.

Where did you buy them?
The turtleneck is from Joseph, bought at M Curated in The Emporium, Bangkok. The vintage sailor dress was purchased from Again & Again Vintage in Thonglor, Bangkok. The trousers are by Beauty & Youth, purchased from United Arrows.

Why did you buy them?
The turtleneck sweater was a present from my lovely “sis” Roj [Founder of fashion label Issue]. The vintage sailor dress has this fifties-inspired style that feels timelessly smart and classy. The trousers remind me of retro take on masculine tailoring.

Why haven't you ever worn it and now that you’ve worn it, will you ever wear it again?
Turtleneck: I’ve treasured it for many years, and of course, will be wearing as soon as AW 17 starts…
Vintage sailor dress: Admittedly, my personality totally clashes with this kind of dress, so I wore it as a jacket instead—and just for this shoot! I reckon I’ll just keep it and admire it for my own pleasure.
Trousers: They are brand new, but a bit too fitted to be worn right now. Note to self: must diet soon!
