The age of millennials and “Generation Y” is a time when social media reigns supreme (pun intended). A period when Instagram can launch a career—or even be the career. A era when your follower count determines your popularity and status. Maybe not quite as significantly as in Black Mirror’s “Nosedive” episode, but also not that far off. It is a world of social media and it’s stars who have created multi-billion dollar business. With this in mind, we figured that we’d make a list of some “personalities” who have gone on to test the waters in various industries. In honor of our first edition of exposes on such individuals, we have decided to feature California heartthrob Cameron Dallas.

Starting out as a Vine star (is the short video platform still a thing, by the way?), sharing humorous videos of himself and friends back in 2014, Cameron Dallas (born in 1994) took the inevitable step of becoming Youtube famous. With a growing following on all of his various social media outlets, Cameron branched out and landed acting roles in film such as Expelled and The Outfield—all while pursuing yet another dream of his: a singing career. With only one single released—though featured performing on others’ tracks—you might recognize him more from his work as a model than as a singer. His campaign editorials for both Calvin Klein (before the Raf Simons era), American Eagle, and Dolce Gabbana, has made Cameron somewhat of a household name both on the runway and in the front row. Thus, the list of his achievements seems to go on and on….
